TFF reviews the Wychwood Bankman Bag
The original Bankman Bag is an item of luggage you still see today on the bankside of many stillwater fisheries. This to me emphasises what a great bag this is, obviously meeting the needs of fly anglers over the time that this bag has been available. The new Bankman Bag is sure to follow suit and I have been using this for my guided fly fishing sessions on my local small stillwaters.
The current model has been upgraded and has a semi-rigid frame with a moulded EVA base and an increased capacity of 35-litres. Other additions include two rod tube holders on the top lid, a cushioned back panel and one which I like and have used is the two, twin Velcro rod keepers on the back of the bag which allow you to hold two rods set up with their reels on when not in use. There are two zipped pockets at the front and two at the sides for your fly boxes, leader etc. along with pouches and D loops for further storage and attachments. Inside there is plenty of room for your reels and two extra zipped pockets in the lid for leaders, along with four meshed pouches in the main storage area. Finally, there is a concealed rain protector to cover your bag when those winter showers come along. All in all this is an ideal bag for the small water angler and has enough variety within it to store everything for a session down at your local fishery.
